Troop 62 Committee Chair
I started my Scouting journey when my son joined as a Tiger Cub. I have since served in several capacities including Den Leader, Cubmaster, Activities Chair, and now as the Troop Committee Chair.
My commitment to the Troop 62 is to listen, observe, and grow in my role so that I may be an effective leader and valuable resource to the parents, Scouts, and other volunteers. I am very proud to be part of such an active Troop with passionate and dedicated leaders.
Ask me about the amazing adventures I have had since joining Troop 62!
John Baratti
Troop 62 Scoutmaster
I've been in Scouting for over a decade. Involved with Packs and multiple Troops in various capacities to support the program. At the Council level I've been a part of and worked with many committees to organize events to teach Scouts and Scouters from Shooting Sports, Training, to Camporees. You'll often see me at Council Training events such as Scouting University and IOLS & BALOO courses.
As Troop 62's Scoutmaster my goal is to help lead these young men through their Scouting Journey. I place a heavy emphasis on safety, and learning from our mistakes but always having fun. Mentoring their Leadership skills is one of the most important tasks, as you can not give someone a position and expect them to intuitively know how to lead others.
Being involved in Scouting has been one of the greatest experiences of my life. Getting to watch these Scouts mature and grow in their skills and learn to be leaders makes all the hard work worth it. I take a sense of pride as the boys go from being chaos in Heelys to mature semi adult leaders over others, it's an amazing thing to watch and even more fun when you are a part of that journey.
